Working at Home Things to Consider
If you are considering giving up your day job, where you get paid automatically for the work done and going it alone working at home, there are a few things to consider.
If you have been made redundant or retired and this situation has occurred out of your control, it is a little different; otherwise I would say things like, can you afford to ditch your paid employment yet? Is your new business established yet? Are you earning sufficient to replace your working income? It does take a little time to build a new business even online. You may need to work at growing it part-time initially.
Other considerations to explore: do you like you own solitary company or will you miss the hub-bub of your work surroundings. There are ways to replace this with new communities of fellow entrepreneurs. You can join forums, affiliate communities, multi media sites etc. But be warned this can consume a lot of valuable time if you become addicted, however they can also be good sources of business.
Do you have enough training and experience to go it alone? Do you know which tasks to do first. Do you have a tried and tested plan? I would suggest, unless you are an experienced marketer to keep your day job for a while until you have grown your business sufficiently. Plus you will need a certain amount of cash for advertising and setting up.
If affiliate marketing is your route to working at home, you could choose a mentor with a good tried and tested system, who provides excellent products for you to offer your customers. It also means you can earn as you learn, making your success quicker and with the support from the community and your mentor you can adjust to your new way of life more easily.
There are of course big advantages to working at home, no commuting, time freedom, flexibility, and you can work almost anywhere with a good internet connection. We now winter in the sun in Spain whilst I build my business.
With all this freedom to work when you want to, you do have to put in some effort if you want success, regular time has to be invested in your business. However if you have chosen a topic you are passionate about it will be an interest you will want to spend time developing. What better may of making money than doing something you love doing!
You will only make money if you build solid foundations, build your list and take care of your customers they are the life-blood of your business. It is easier to look after and service happy customers than be forever looking for new ones.
